The following represent some of the many ways Church
World Service is creating a rainbow of help and hope through the Tools & Blankets
Program. This shipping report does not reflect the transfers of funds
in support of international Tools & Blankets
Program projects and purchases.
International Shipments
Dominican Republic
- 2,500 lightweight blankets, 6,912 containers of antibacterial hand and face wipes, and 1,400 3-5 gallon buckets to support efforts of partner Servicio Social de Iglesias Dominicana.
Ethiopia
- 250 lightweight blankets to Bright Hope Organization to support efforts of partner Global Assistance Program.
Kenya
- 250 lightweight blankets to Christian Ministries in Africa to support efforts of partner Global Assistance Program.
Liberia
- 2,500 lightweight blankets, 1 generator, and 555 pounds of vegetable seeds to support efforts of partner agency Church Aid Liberia.
Malawi
- 250 lightweight blankets to Malawi is Partners in Harvest to support efforts of partner Global Assistance Program.
Moldova
- 1,200 woolen blankets to support programs of partner Civil Association Homecare.
Sierra Leone
- 560 birthing kits and 550 cartons of canned chicken to support programs of partner Council of Churches in Sierra Leone.
Zimbabwe
- 2,000 lightweight blankets and 1,980 woolen blankets for emergency response efforts of partner Christian Care.
- 250 lightweight blankets to Zimbabwe is Celebration Centre to support efforts of partner Global Assistance Program.
Domestic Shipments
Alabama
- 50 lightweight blankets to Zero Gravity Ministry for distribution to homeless in Mobile.
Arkansas
- 800 woolen blankets to Mount View Seventh-day Adventist Church in response to tornadoes.
- 200 woolen blankets to Adventist Community Services in Clinton in response to tornadoes.
- 200 lightweight blankets to Seventh-day Adventist Church in DeQueen in response to flooding.
California
- 504 containers of antibacterial hand and face wipes to All Tribes American Indian Charter School in Valley Center as part of long term recovery efforts.
Florida
- 100 lightweight blankets to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Ft. Myers for distribution to homeless in east Ft. Myers area.
Illinois
- 420 woolen blankets to First Christian Church in Watseka to respond to families displaced by winter storms and flooding.
Iowa
- 200 lightweight blankets to Cooperative Refugee Services in Des Moines for distribution to newly arriving refugees.
Kansas
- 210 woolen blankets to Doorstep Inc. for homeless and economically disadvantaged in the Topeka area.
- 50 lightweight blankets to Satanta United Methodist Church for seasonal farm workers.
Maine
- 600 containers of antibacterial hand and face wipes to Catholic Charities Maine in Caribou in response to area flooding.
Maryland
- 200 lightweight blankets to Milton Avenue United Methodist Church in Baltimore for distribution to homeless in Baltimore and Washington D.C.
Massachusetts
- 300 lightweight blankets to Children's Service of Roxbury, Inc. in Dorchester for distribution to homeless in the Dorchester area.
New Mexico
- 2,300 lightweight blankets to Monte Sinai United Methodist Church in Deming for use in border ministry.
- 150 donated baby blankets, 50 lightweight blankets, and 2 cartons of bath lotion to the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico for distribution to economically disadvantaged persons in the Clovis area.
Washington
- 200 reflective blankets to Cold and Hungry Coalition in Olympia for distribution to homeless in Mason County.
- 90 woolen blankets to First United Methodist Church's Extreme Cold Weather Ministry in Mount Vernon for homeless and economically disadvantaged.
