Primary Purpose:
Assists with overseeing the implementation and supervision of current programs, including insuring that the programs are carried out effectively, and in compliance with their respective cooperative agreements or contracts as well CWS standards and policies.
Identifying new programmatic opportunities and prospective funding sources for program support to diversify the agency’s funding base.
Essential Duties:
1. Work closely with the Director in supervising all program activity in the Miami office and ensure that all program goals and priorities are met, including;
- Responsible for assisting the Director with the oversight and implementation of current programs and directly responsible for the Supervision of assigned programs such as but not limited to; Refugee Youth and Family Program, Haitian Family Services Program, Florida Center for Survivors of Torture, and the Microenterprise Program.
- Provides guidance and support to senior managers on program management and budget issues.
- Assists the Director in conceptualizing long-term strategies and developing operational plans to ensure that all program objectives are met.
- Work closely with the senior managers to ensure that all reports, records, and related program documents meet deadlines and are submitted in appropriate form, as required for all programs.
- Further develop and manage on regular basis program evaluation, tracking, and reporting systems.
- Build networks/maintain relationships with local organizations and voluntary agencies involved with provision of services for refugees and immigrants.
2. Identifying new programmatic opportunities and prospective funding sources for program support to diversify the agency’s funding base.
- In collaboration with the Miami Director, is responsible for researching, developing and submitting new and continuing grant proposals.
- Ensures compliance with all Church World Service Grant Submission protocols.
- Overseeing the organization’s communications strategies so that current and potential funders, partners, and other relevant people.
- Responsible for coordination of the annual fundraising event. Coordinates meetings, event program, logistics and promotions and insures involvement of the CWS Miami Advisory Board.
3. In the Director’s absence, serve as Acting Director for the Miami Office and represent the office at national and local meetings of CWS/IRP, Voluntary Agencies, government partners and other funders.
4. Working closely with the Director, recommend policies for changing and strengthening Miami Office operations.
5. Assist the Director in building and managing an active and engaged local Advisory Board.

Qualifications:
- Strong organizational, diplomatic and priority-setting skills.
- In depth knowledge of refugee and immigrant-related programs and protocols
- Familiarity with the US immigration law a plus.
- Good understanding of the State of Florida funding procedures.
- Strong budgetary skills.
- Energetic individual with clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
- Self-starter.
Education: Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience administering refugee resettlement and/or US Immigration programs and related activities. Two years professional grant writing and contract management or program evaluation experience, preferable experience working with churches or church-based organizations.
